No More Transfer Fees: BPI Waives InstaPay and PESONet Charges Forever

If you are tired of watching small transfer fees slowly eat into your hard-earned money every time you move cash around, there is finally some massive news worth celebrating.

Starting July 1, 2026, the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) permanently scrapped digital transfer fees for both InstaPay and PESONet. Whether you need to send a quick payment to a seller, transfer funds to a family member’s digital wallet, or clear business invoices, you can do it without paying a single centavo extra.

This move covers BPI’s main digital ecosystem, including the BPI Mobile App, BPI Online web banking, VYBE e-wallet, BanKo, and BizKo for small business owners.

For over 9.5 million enrolled digital users, sending money across different platforms just got a whole lot smoother.

Why Free InstaPay and PESONet Transfers Matter

Before this update, transferring money to another bank or e-wallet came with standard friction costs. InstaPay transactions—which happen instantly—charged ₱10 per send. PESONet transfers, usually used for larger batch payouts, came with a ₱50 transaction fee.

While a ten-peso fee might not seem like much on a single transfer, those charges quickly add up over a month of paying bills, splitting dinner receipts, and funding e-wallets.

By eliminating these costs permanently, BPI gives account holders the freedom to move their money whenever and wherever they need to—completely fee-free.

The Big Picture: Financial Inclusion & BPI’s 175th Anniversary

This major shift comes as BPI celebrates its 175th anniversary. As Southeast Asia’s oldest bank, BPI is using this milestone to push for broader digital banking adoption and financial access across the Philippines.

It also directly supports Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Circular No. 1238, Series of 2026. The central bank has been encouraging financial institutions to implement fair, market-based pricing on person-to-person (P2P) electronic fund transfers to reduce digital payment barriers for everyday Filipinos.

BPI President and CEO TG Limcaoco highlighted that removing transfer fees helps eliminate everyday financial hurdles:

“Making interbank transfers free is a meaningful step toward enabling our customers to move their money more freely, while strengthening adoption of secure and convenient digital banking. We expect this to drive more frequent use of digital transfers as customers no longer have to factor in per-transaction costs.”

How to Get Free Transfers on Your Account

Getting access to fee-free InstaPay and PESONet transactions is straightforward, but there is one quick step you need to take first.

1. Update Your BPI App

To unlock the zero-fee InstaPay and PESONet feature, make sure your BPI app is running the latest version. The bank rolled out an important app update packed with system fixes and performance updates to prepare for the rollout.

  • Apple App Store (iOS)
  • Google Play Store (Android)
  • Huawei AppGallery
2. Choose Your Preferred Platform

The zero-fee policy applies seamlessly across BPI’s entire range of digital services:

  • BPI Mobile App & Online Banking: For everyday personal transfers, bill splits, and account management.

  • BanKo: Perfect for self-employed micro-entrepreneurs managing microfinance accounts.
  • BizKo: Built specifically for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) handling payroll and supplier transfers.

The Bottom Line
